Jeff Hegwer has been a local windsurfer for quite some time now. His love of the sport has driven him to want to share it with others. Jeff founded the Therapeutic Winds Windsurfing School, which offers individual and group lessons ranging from beginner to advanced levels. Jeff is a U.S. Sailing Certified Instructor.

As you've watched local windsurfers, have you ever thought, "I'd like to give that a try?" If so, now you can! Here is a one hour course introducing you to sailing, windsurfing equipment and safety tips. All equipment is provided, so this is a great way to give windsurfing a try! Basic swimming ability is required, and you should wear athletic shoes or aqua socks to class. Lessons will be offered in small groups of three to eight.

This course is a full intro to windsurfing and will cover the first half of Level 1 instruction. The course will last about 3 hours and cost $75. As in any course you take, you'll be getting great instruction from a US certified sailing instructor.

If you want to learn to windsurf, this is the class for you. It is a complete course introducing you to sailing theory and techniques. Upon completion of this course you will receive a U.S Sailing level-one certification card. All equipment will be provided. Basic swimming ability is required and you should wear tennis shoes or aqua socks. You will be expected to purchase the book " Learn How To Windsurf Right" from the instructor for $15.95 (not included in course cost). The course will be two days each of three hours in length. 

Advanced Skills and Theory focuses on more advanced theory and techniques. During this course you will be learning how to use a harness, the foot straps, and also how to "carve" and "jibe." This course will last about 2-3 hours and cost only $75. These are some very fun things to be able to do and Jeff is excellent at helping people learn.

Once you've mastered all the different courses, or if you just learn better when it's one-on-one, Jeff is offering idividual lessons at $30/hr. He's a great guy to work with and he's sure to teach you quickly and correctly.
