Boating     

Lake Okabena provides a great place to enjoy a variety of boating experiences. There are four public boat landing facilities, located strategically around the lake. See the map shown below, or the facility focused on the boat landings [Click Here].

Summer water sports, like water skiing on Lake Okabena, are family fun and great way to enjoy life.

Lake Okabena is about the best Windsurfing location within 500 miles, because of its altitude, high on the Buffalo ridge and it is in the right position for the normal summer jet stream to produce west-to-east winds that are often in excess of 15 miles-per-hour.

Centennial Park and Sailboard Beach ( formerly Lakefront Park) are the better base locations for windsurfing because of their easier approach to the water.

Each year in June, a special Windsurfing event with national acclaim is held here on Lake Okabena. Photos and further information is available on their web site [ Click here]

Swimming in Lake Okabena     
There are a number of sand beaches in public areas where families can swim and enjoy water recreation.

Lake Okabena Provides opportunities to fish either from a boat or from shore.

Fishing from the shore is possible from any of the Lakeside Parks and from any of the public Fishing Docks as shown on the map above.

Fishing from boat is facilitated with the boat landings and ample parking: See the lake map shown below for the locations of the boat landings.

Summer Band Concerts

Each Summer, on the shores of Lake Okabena in Chautauqua Park, there are a series of FREE band concerts.

The concerts are done by The Amazing Worthington City band, made up of over 50 people who love music.

These have been part of each summers life in Worthington for over 60 years.

Comfortable seating is available. Restrooms are open.
