Boating
Lake Okabena provides a great place to enjoy a
variety of boating experiences. There are four public boat landing facilities, located strategically
around the lake. See the
map shown below,
or the facility focused on the boat landings [Click Here].
Water
Skiing
Summer water sports, like water skiing on Lake Okabena, are family fun and great way to
enjoy life.
For locations of the boat docks for lake access and ample boat trailer parking, See the map shown below.
Wind Surfing
Lake Okabena is
about the best Windsurfing location within 500 miles, because of its altitude, high on the Buffalo
ridge and it is in the right position for the normal summer jet stream to produce west-to-east
winds that are often in excess of 15 miles-per-hour.
Centennial Park and Sailboard Beach ( formerly Lakefront Park) are the better base locations
for windsurfing because of their easier approach to the water.
Each year in June, a special Windsurfing event with national acclaim is held here on Lake Okabena. Photos and further information is available on their web site [
